Student Leadership
Students from Year 11 were invited to apply for our school captain and prefect positions in Term 2.
Students were required to submit a written application and spoke to their peers and teachers about why there would be a successful student leader at Blacktown Girls High School. All staff and students from Year 11 voted late last term.
Induction
On Wednesday 23 November we held our 2022/2023 school captain and prefect badge ceremony, were the school captains, vice-captains, senior prefects and prefects were formally announced and received their badges. I would like to congratulate the students that applied for the leadership positions. It can be quite daunting speaking in front of your peers and staff, however, all students spoke with confidence and put forward a great case as to why they should be a student leaders.
Congratulations to our newly elected school captain and vice captain. Both students have repeatedly demonstrated strong leadership qualities in the school and I have great confidence that both girls will be outstanding role models in the school community. I look forward to working with them to continually improve the school and ensure student voice is a strong contributor to decisions made at Blacktown Girls High School.
Being elected to the school leadership team, indicates that the school community believes that each person has the personal attributes to work hard and represent the school in a positive manner. Congratulations to all students in our newly elected leadership team, I look forward to working with them over the next twelve months.
Thank you,
Ms Maria Trimmis
Principal
