Quality Learning Environment: Our library offers comfortable, air-conditioned spaces designed to accommodate various learning needs. Whether you're working individually, in small groups, or as a whole class, you'll find a place to focus and thrive.
Diverse Resources: We believe in nurturing lifelong readers, which is why our library boasts a rich collection of materials to cater to a wide range of interests and abilities. From books and periodicals to digital resources such as eBooks and Audio books, there's something for everyone here. A dedicated area is provided for quiet reading for all.
State-of-the-Art Technology: Equipped with projectors, desktop computers, class sets of laptops, a Digital Library Management System and wireless internet access, our library embraces technology to enhance learning and research opportunities for our students.
Borrowing and Reservations: Students can borrow items from our extensive collection for a specified period, with options for renewal. Reservations are also available for popular resources. Books may be borrowed for three weeks with textbooks and HSC textbooks limited to two weeks.
Library Collection: With over 6000 items, our collection encompasses a diverse array of resources, including fiction books, Non-fiction books including textbooks for all stages, graphic novels and digital media. Some puzzles and games are also available to use while in the library.
Archives: Housing a treasure trove of school history and memorabilia, our archives offer a glimpse into the rich heritage of Blacktown Girls High School.
Library Catalogue: Accessible both on and off-campus, our library catalogue serves as a gateway to our collection, providing students and staff with easy access to resources and information. This catalogue is accessible through the E-platform and Oliver using DET student portal home page – click on the “My School Library” icon or directly via https://blacktownghs.eplatform.co.
This collection can be accessed anytime, anywhere using the DET login.
Support and Services: Our dedicated library staff are here to assist you with research, writing, printing, and more. From information skills lessons to dedicated one on one support for assessments, we're committed to empowering our students to excel academically.
Homework Centre: Our Homework Centre assists students with the completion of homework, classwork, assessment tasks and projects in a safe and productive environment. The Homework Centre is run by our dedicated teachers and will be operating every Monday and Tuesday afternoon between 2.30pm to 4.00pm in the school library (see details noted under Years 7-12 Important Information - Homework Centre section).
Students will be required to bring their schoolwork and associated material with them (pencil case, books, etc.). They will also have access to the library resources, including computers and the internet to assist them with the completion of their schoolwork under the guidance of teachers.

Premier's Reading Challenge: We actively encourage students to participate in the NSW Premier's Reading Challenge, offering support and recognition for their reading achievements throughout the academic year.
Photocopying and Printing: Our library provides photocopying and printing services.
