Our school has been selected to participate in a study to analyse the benefits to improve student safety and help ease traffic congestion.
Thank you for your continued support as we respond to COVID-19 social distancing health restrictions. The school very much appreciates your cooperation during student drop off and pick up to reduce crowds and contact.
It is widely acknowledged that COVID-19 has changed the way people travel. In light of this, an opportunity has arisen that allows the school to explore additional benefits resulting from the change in face to face operations. The school has been selected to participate in a trial that monitors the long term impact of staggered drop off and pick up times and determine whether:
· Student safety has increased due to reduced traffic
· There is calmer traffic flow during parent drop off and pick up times
· There is a decrease in inappropriate behaviours
· There is a decrease in congestion and accidents, especially where the school is located on a main street
Participation in the study will mean that the school will continue to operate with amended school finishing times from the start of Term 3, 2020. This will be reviewed in Term 4, 2020.
The amended end of school day times are:
· 2.15pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
· 1:50pm Wednesday
We will continue to finish at 2:30pm pm Mondays.
