How to apply for entry into our selective stream
APPLICATIONS FOR YEARS 8 TO 10 - 2027 OPEN 17 JUNE 2026
Unlike NSW public schools, there are no intake areas for selective classes. Enrolment is on application only. You can apply to up to 3 schools.
You may apply for entry to a maximum of three selective high schools. To gain entry to the above selective school in Years 8-10 your child will need to sit the Higher Ability Selection Test (HAST) developed by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) in Melbourne.
If your first preference is Blacktown Girls High School, you will need to apply and pay for the test at Blacktown Girls School prior to the closing date. Your child will then sit the test at Blacktown Girls High School.
A non-refundable fee of $110.00 needs to be paid in person to the school administration office by no later than 2pm Friday 24 July 2026 EFTPOS is available. Late applications will not be accepted.
You must send separate applications to all the Selective High schools in which you are seeking enrolment.
- Applications for Years 8-10 2027 close 24 July 2026 at 2:00pm sharp. No applications will be accepted after this time
- The placement test in the BGHS school hall on 1 September 2026
- The Selection Committee will meet to consider 2027 applications in September / October 2026
- Outcome advice to applicants forwarded by email in October / November 2026
